Mother's Day

May 10, 2015
My first 'real' Mother's Day was so great! It started off with Scott not feeling so good so I went to church with chloe and they gave all the ladies a bag with some candy and hand lotion and a nice book.  It was so sweet of them.  Then after church I came home and Scott gave me some chocolates from See's Candy (which are the bestest ever!) and a homemade card.  He is seriously so sweet.

Later we headed over to Aunt Sue's for dinner.  It was so fun to catch up with cousins and just hang out and eat some good food!

Chloe and Mikayla (I am not sure if I spelt that right... sorry Chelsie!) had so much hanging out with each other, or at least staring at each other.  It's so fun to have cousins who live so close.

I feel so lucky to be a Mom.  It has been such an amazing growing experience for me.  I have learned so much about patience and love.  I never knew how much I could love someone until I had Chloe.  She is seriously just a little ray of sunshine, so pure and so sweet.  She is my little angel and I love her. She made me a mommy and I am so lucky that she is mine. I am so glad that I had such an amazing mom growing up, someone I can still look to as a good example of the Mom I want to strive to be everyday.  I am still learning and am nowhere near perfect but I am taking it one day at a time.  I love being a Mom.   <3

Payson Temple Open House

Wow I haven't updated this blog in forever! So I am going to be doing TONS of catch up posts.  So here goes nothing...

May 7, 2015
Today was a really special day! The Payson Temple's open house is going on so Scott, Me, Chloe, Kelly, and Nate all drove down to Payson together to go through the temple.  Thankfully the weather was beautiful and the drive went by really quick.  Chloe slept most the way, gosh she is such a good baby in the car.
We were kinda nervous about taking Chloe through the open house because she likes to spit up so we brought our handy dandy burp cloth with us and it was a good thing we did because spit up she did, in practically every room.  We had fed her right before the open house... ya that probably was not the best idea.  Oh well, you live and learn.  It was really neat to take her through the temple though and stand with her and Scott in the Celestial room.  I love my little family so much.  I am so glad I get to spend forever with them.
The Payson temple was absolutely beautiful! Their main thing down their is the apple orchards so they incorporated that into the stained glass windows and it was so pretty!
Thanks so much Nate & Kelly for going with us!

Play Dates, Park, & Date Night

This is kind of a catch up post on the happenings of late.

I finally got to meet Kelly's good friend Erin this last month! I had heard so much about her from Kelly and had texted her a bunch while I was pregnant I was so excited to finally meet her!  We all met up and went and got lunch at Chik Fil A.  Erin has a little girl named Olivia who was seriously just a doll.  So dang cute.  It was so fun to just have a lunch out with the gals plus who doesn't love Chik Fil A.  Freaking yum.  Plus the baby girls did really good which is always a plus.
Oh and me and Kelly did not coordinate the stripey shirts but gosh don't we look cute?!?

I seriously cannot wait for it to be summer.  This bipolar weather has been driving me crazy.  A couple weeks ago we had sunshine and it was so nice to spend time outside! Sugar House Park is super close to our apartment which is freaking awesome because I LOVE taking Chloe there to go on walks and just hang out in the park.  I found a pretty awesome spot by the creek under some big trees that I have officially claimed as "our spot".  Chloe seemed to certainly love it.  Picture overload below, what can I say? She is freaking adorable.

Chloe seriously loves her Dada so much and we love when he gets a break from school and work to be able to go to the park with us.

I also got the chance to go down to Lehi and hang out with Michelle and Mika! We had such a chill fun day just hanging out watching Netflix, making food, and working on my never ending rug.  It was so much fun catching up and hanging out.  I am so sad that she will be gone once again for the summer but glad I got to hang with her before she headed out.

Scott and I went out on a date.  He finished his first semester at the U and I surprised him with a planned out date night with a babysitter for Chloe and everything.  Thank you again Kelly for watching Chloe you are the bestest ever!!!

The date started out with us getting dinner at Ichiban.  We are so obsessed with their sushi.  We get it at LEAST once a month.  We decided to try a couple new rolls and I think they are our new favorites. Of course our favorite favorite is always The Fantasy Roll and our new favorites are The Caterpillar Roll and The Spicy Roll.  And we ALWAYS get Crab Ragoons because what is Sushi without the crab ragoons? It is probably my favorite part of the dinner. Its spicy and hot but so good.

After dinner we went over to Baskin Robins and got some ice cream.  I got Half Mint Chocolate Chip and Half Cookie Dough.  Scott got half Cookies N Cream and half Cookie Dough. Gosh I love ice cream.  The weather was so nice so we were able to eat our ice cream outside.  YUM

After ice cream we headed over to the movie theatre. Scott already guessed what we were doing, that little stinker, I don't know how he did! I thought I was doing such a good job at keeping it a secret... oh well he was excited nonetheless.  So we got to the movie theatre to see the new Avengers movie.  I have to say it was pretty good. I liked the first Avengers movie more but this one was still really good and it was so fun to actually see a movie in a theatre instead of at home with a Redbox rental.

The movie was pretty late at night so we didn't get home until almost midnight but it was so much fun to go out with my hubby.  He works so hard for our family and I appreciate it so much.  He works at Microsoft 25-30 hrs a week and goes to school full time. He balances the work load so well and always finds time to hang out with me and Chloe too.  I love him so much and feel so lucky to have him as my husband.

Last but not least I was able to hang
out with a couple of mommy's that Michelle introduced me to.  We all met up at the Tracy Aviary.  It was a rainy day so that made the outing a memorable one.  We were hoping we could wait out the storm in the gift shop and hopefully it would pass.  Sadly this was not the case.  We braved the rain and walked around getting soaked.

Thankfully Chloe was tucked away in the stroller so she didn't get wet and I had her bundled in blankets but the other kiddos were pretty soaked by the end. Kids are troopers that is for sure.

Other than the rain being a bummer the place was actually pretty cool! We got to see all kinds of different birds like hawks, vultures, flamingos, owls, peacocks etc. I definitely want to go there again in the summer when it's not raining because they do all kinds of shows when the weather is nice.

All in all it
was a lot of fun though
and one of the other kiddos was only a month older than Chloe! They just stared at each other it was adorable.

Pretty much love at first sight =) It was so fun to get out of the house and hang with other mommies.  I am excited for more play dates in the future!

5 Months... a little late =/

Wow time has seemed to escape this mommy.  I cannot believe that it has been almost a month since I have posted on here... too much Netflix and Minecraft =)

Chloe turned 5 months old on May 4th.  Gosh time seriously has never gone this fast.  Her doctor appointment went really well.  We just had to go in fora weight check with the nurse to make sure she is still gaining weight.  These were her new stats:

Weight: 11.3 in the 3%
Height: 25.5 inches in the 75%
Head Circumference: 16.5 inches in the 75%

YAY she is slowly moving up on the chart at her own little pace. I couldn't be happier! The nurse and doctor were so excited about her weight gain too so that was definitely a plus.

She is one lean girl just like her mama.  I love that she wants to be just like me but seriously girl just put some meat on those bones! Chloe is quite the eater though.  She drinks about 30 ounces of milk a day and has rice cereal either in the morning or night and some kind of pureed vegetable.  I got this really awesome baby food maker called the Beaba Babycook and i LOVE it.  It can steam any fruit or vegetable and then also purees.  It's so handy and this way Chloe gets nice fresh fruit or vegetables without any preservatives.  With how sensitive her skin has been the doctor thought that homemade baby food would be the best solution for her.  So far so good.  She absolutely loves the rice cereal.  She has moved up from only eating about 1/4 tsp to 1 tbsp.  Sounds like not very much but it actually gives her a couple of bites.  She is getting so much better at keeping the food in her mouth too!

As far as vegetables go we have tried carrots and sweet potatoes.  She absolutely loves sweet potatoes. YAY!
As far as fruits go we have tried applesauce, bananas,  and yogurts.
I am so excited to keep introducing her to new foods.  It's so fun to watch her silly faces and expressions.

Chloe is learning so much so quickly.
New tricks:

Roll from back to tummy on both sides (ALL DAY EVERY DAY)
Eat solids
Sleep 6-10 hrs each night (sometimes she's a hungry hippo and wakes up to be fed)
Supports weight on her legs when you hold her up
Rarely spits up
Splashes her legs during bath time
Holds her own bottle
Transfers toys from hand to hand
Grabs anything within reaching distance

We love her more and more every day.  She is our little sunshine. We can't wait to see her start to crawl and sit next.  Gosh I cannot believe we are already almost to that stage. I definitely need to baby proof my apartment =)

Mommy & Chloe Boise Trip

 April 5th-11th
So my Dad got to come down for General conference and when he headed back up to Boise he took Chloe and me along with him.  I was super sad to leave Scott for a whole week! Scott packed me a lunch for the drive and I found this napkin in the bag.  He is such a sweetheart.  I love him so much!  Gosh I got to lucky when I married him.

We made it to Boise and grandma was so excited to hold Chloe! The house smelt so amazing because roast was cooking.  HOLY YUM! That is probably the thing i miss the most about living at home.  Growing up every Sunday we would have roast, potatoes, and carrots.  My FAVORITE meal ever! Thanks mom and dad for making that for me while I was there!

On Monday Mom & I went to the Village in Meridian and walked around Kleiner Park.  It was a little chilly out but the park was pretty much deserted so that was nice.  The park is sooo nice! I cannot believe how much they have upgraded that area! I remember when it used to be just soccer fields that I played on.  Crazy how much it has grown in the last couple of years.
Chloe is getting so big every day it amazes me.  This week was her first time sleeping in a pack n play and I was pretty nervous about how she would do but she actually did really really good! This picture however, is her fighting her nap.  This is a regular occurrence.  She loves to sleep but hates to go down.  She just loves to play =)
That night I was able to hang out with Annette and we watched Big Hero 6.  I hadn't seen the movie yet.  I LOVED IT! Oh my gosh it is definitely one of my new favorites.  So so cute and so so good.  I would totally recommend it to everyone!

On Tuesday morning Mom & I went over to Other Mothers to get some outfits for Chloe. We found so many cute things! Gosh they had quite a selection.  We ended up getting like 8 shirts, 1 jacket, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of shoes, and 4 jumpers for less than $50 bucks!!  I am so excited for Spring clothes.  Gosh she is going to look so adorable in all those outfits. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! We really appreciate that.

After Other Mothers we drove by the site for the Meridian Temple.  I am so excited for that temple! It didn't look like much of anything yet but I am excited to see it when it's all finished.  Afterwards Mom & I took Chloe for a walk around the block.  It was kinda chilly so we bundled her up and she LOVED it!  Gosh I love our little neighborhood!

That night we gave Chloe Rice Cereal for the first time! She wasn't quite sure about it but I think she will learn to love it in time! Gosh she is so cute when she eats.  That night Mom & I went to the Boise Temple for an endowment session and Annette was kind enough to watch Chloe for us! Thank you so so much Annette! You are the bestest!  The temple was so beautiful! Gosh I love going to the temple so much and it was so fun to go with my Mom!

Wednesday was our shopping day! We first headed out to Big 5 and Mom got me some good walking shoes. Thank goodness because the ones I was wearing were so worn out in the heel and always made my feet hurt.  I got the cutest sketchers! Thanks again Grandma & Grandpa you guys seriously spoil me! After Big 5 we went to Target and sadly there was nothing there that I liked... Ugh I swear my look is just not in anymore.  I need like a whole new wardrobe.  Anyone want to lend me a ton of money!? After Target we went to Kohls and I found a couple of shirts I really liked and a pair of earrings.  Yay finally! New shirts go me!

I put Chloe's hair into a pony tail for the first time ever too! She looked like a little whoville! Sadly the pony tail did not last long because little miss chloe kept pulling it out.  Good thing she's cute.  I can't wait until she has even more hair and I can put it up in two pony tails on the sides of her head.

Thursday we started the morning off by going to Merrits! Oh my freaking yum! I swear I crave those scones all the time! I am so glad I converted my parents to that place.  I got the powdered sugar scone and Mom got the strawberry scone and we shared hashbrowns, eggs, and sausage.  I love breakfast food.  I also got a Chocolate Mint Milkshake.  Their shakes are also the best! Thanks for the breakfast! Everyone loved Chloe.  She did so good there! Gosh she is such a good baby.  There was an old couple by us that said they wanted to take her home and spoil her! I was just fine with that =)

It was finally a sunny and warm day so Chloe and I hung out on the tramp outside! I bounced with her a little and she did not know what was going on.  I don't know if she liked it that much.  But I put her jungle play mat on the tramp and covered it with a blanket and she loved playing out there.

Later that afternoon I had a mommy play date with Julia and her little girl Olivia! Julia took a couple pictures of me and Chloe! She has a hidden talent for picture taking! It was so much fun to catch up with them and hang out.  Chloe wasn't quite sure who the little human was that was touching her and laying next to her but it was so fun to see them interact with each other! And Olivia kept holding Chloe's hand.  Gosh that killed me.  I wish I lived closer to you Julia! It was so much fun!

Grandpa loves hanging out with Chloe.  It is so cute to watch him play with her. He seriously can get her to laugh more than anyone! She loves him so much. Mom had to work at the temple so Dad & I made Mac & Cheese and Hot Dogs for dinner.  YUMM! Thanks Dad for putting up with my silly dinner choice.

On Friday morning Mom & I headed downtown to walk on the Boise River Greenbelt.  It was such a beautiful day out again! We started our walk in Ann Morrison Park and walked all the way up to Julia Davis Park and back.  WOW am I out of shape.  I was dying the whole way back and we only walked like 2 miles.  Haha gotta love post baby body.  I thought that Chloe would love this walk sadly she slept the whole time... at least she was happy! haha What a little stinker.

It was so fun to walk around down by BSU campus and hang out with my mommy! We had such a good time! I seriously wish we lived closer.  I miss having such pretty walking trails so close to home.  If anyone knows of any good ones that you can a take a stroller on please let me know because I love taking her on walks outside!

After our walk we headed home and we all took a nice long nap! Gosh was I pooped.

That night we headed down to Julia Davis Park to go support Annette in her Bo-Glo 5k run.  I made her a poster and everything! Wow my artistic skills have not improved at all.  That silly thing at the top is a running shoe in case you can't tell =)
Annette did so good on the run! I was so proud of her! It really made me want to get into better shape.  Walking/Running a 5k would be so fun! Maybe this summer I will be in good enough shape that I can enter one! There was a mom there running and pushing her baby in a stroller! Gosh I was impressed.

After the race we headed home and once Annette got home we hung out.  Annette even painted my nails! We watched an episode of Lost.  Wow I haven't seen that show in forever.  Gosh I forgot how good it is.

Saturday rolled around and Annette and I decided to have lunch together! So I suggested Buffalo Wild Wings because she had never been there. OH MY GOSH i seriously love that place so much.  It is Finger Lickin Good. And Annette loved it too! Yay.  It was so fun to catch up and hang out.  We are so weird it's great.  Gotta love these pictures.

After Buffalo Wild Wings we came home and hung out around the house.  I cannot say how nice it is to have help when I need to change or feed Chloe! As much as I love that little girl its such a help! Thanks Aunt Net. Grandma & Grandpa for helping me out so much especially with her poopy diapers.  Everyone always said that once you had you're own kid that the poop wouldn't bother you.  And let me tell you whoever said that was a liar.  I still gag and almost barf everytime I change her dirty diapers.  Maybe one day it will get better but for now its just nasty.

Enough sidetrack though.  That night Mom, Dad & I went out to dinner at McGraths.  We all love that restaurant so much.  I got the steak and shrimp combo.  I came to realize that my favorite shrimp in the world is coconut shrimp.  It is pretty much candy! Gosh it's delish.  Sadly we had terrible service though.  Our waiter was seriously so awful. He barely ever filled up our waters, he forgot the bread plates (even after we asked twice) and forgot a part of my meal until mom noticed!  Good thing the food was good.

Sunday morning we got Chloe ready to go to Church in her new easter dress from Grandma and Granpa.  Gosh she looked so dang cute! Thankfully she slept most of Sacrament and then played during Sunday School.  Sundays are definitely not as easy as they once were.  She is quite a handful.

Thankfully Mom and Dad were there to help me out! Mom took her during Relief Society and got her to fall asleep in her arms! Gosh that takes talent.  Go grandma! She loves you.

After church Dad & I played Settlers of Zarahemla.  We both get so competitive when we play that game.  I was red and Dad was blue.  The board was such a good one.  It was a close game the whole time and we kept stealing the longest road from one another but I ended up winning because I was holding onto a victory point.  WOOT. Finally! Dad always wins so it was about time I won.  Don't worry Dad you'll get me next time.

That night for dinner we had Uncle Layne and Aunt Debbie over for dinner.  Dinner was of course roast. Gosh I love roast so so much.  Can you tell I love good food.

It was so fun to catch up with family and Chloe loved them!

After dinner Mom, Dad, Annette, & I played Quirkle.  It was such a crazy close game! Plus the board was insane! I have never seen it like this! I ended up winning! Annette claims it's because she helped me a couple of times but really I'm just that talented.  Gosh I love playing board games with my family.  We were all laughing so hard through the whole thing.

Sadly Monday came way to quickly and it was the day we had to pack up and head out to go back to Utah.  Of course I was so excited to go home because I missed Scott so much but it was so fun to go out and do thing every day with family! I am so glad that Boise isn't too far away! Mom & I headed out around 10 am and got in mid afternoon.  Chloe did so good on the drive.  She loves her car seat.

Thank you so so so much for such a fun week and for letting me and Chloe come up and eat all your food and get spoiled! We can't wait until we visit again.
Below are a couple of the pictures Julia took for us! Thanks again girlie girl! I love how they turned out.
