My Little 10 pounder!

Chloe is 4 months old.  I cannot even wrap my head around that! She continues to amaze me everyday by learning something new.

This last month has been such a whirlwind of fun.  When Chloe was 3 months she was taking about 4 to 4.5 ounces of formula every feeding.  Now she is successfully taking 6 ounces 5 times a day. We also were FINALLY able to graduate to size 2 bottle nipple! NO MORE SLOW FLO! I must say I am probably most excited about this because now her feedings go by so much more quickly which is a good thing for me and her.  I really need to work on my patience =)

Chloe's sleeping habits have been ALL over the place.  For a while she was sleeping through the night about 8 hours which was AMAZING.  But then she started doing this thing where she would wake up at 2am or 3am every night! Thankfully after her feeding she would go right back down but let me tell you I was one tired Mama.  She was most likely just going through some kind of growth spurt.  However, since last Friday she has been sleeping for 10-12 hrs at night! We got this new swaddle blanket from Babies R Us called the Halo Sleep Swaddle Sack and oh my gosh it is a life saver! It lets you velcro the baby in the swaddle so they can't escape which really helps Chloe sleep because she is a startle sleeper.  Thank you Babies R Us! During the day Chloe takes about 3 to 4 naps usually anywhere from 30 min to an hour and a half.  I do miss the days when she slept longer during her naps but I guess it's a good trade off for sleeping through the night.  I just need to learn how to multitask better so I can get things done around the house! One step at a time right?

The doctor suggested we start solids early for Chloe to help her gain weight.  This last month she has tried rice cereal and banana.  She did not really like the banana but she LOVED the rice cereal.  Right now she only takes about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp but hey its a start! I recently ordered a Beaba Babycook and I am so excited to start making my own baby food for her of all different vegetables and fruits! I can't believe she is already at this stage!

As far as movement goes Chloe is incredibly active.  She kicks her arms and legs all day long.  She can lay on her back and entertain herself for a good half hour sometimes! She is getting much better at tummy time too, her arms are getting so much stronger.  She can hold her head up and look side to side for about 20-30 seconds at a time.  She has also learned how to roll over from her tummy to her back! The first few times it was only because her big head started making her body tilt over but now she's pretty good at doing it on purpose! I can't wait until she gets more mobile! There have only been a couple of times where she has rolled from her back to her tummy.  I hope she starts doing that more this month! As far as toys go she can successfully hold a toy in her hands and bring it up to her mouth, she can shake toys that make noise and she can hit herself in the face with them! Accidentally of course haha She can track toys and faces 180 degrees and she loves to swat at toys that are put in front of her.

Something new this month is she is starting to respond to her name.  When we say 'Chloe' she looks over at us and smiles! It's so adorable.  She smiles all the time now! Every time I go in to get her when she wakes up she has the BIGGEST smile on her face.  It is probably the most rewarding feeling in the world having her big eyes stare up at me and recognize that I'm her Mama.  Another new thing she's learned to do is laugh! She has the silliest laugh ever and it is really hard to get her to laugh but once you get her started she cracks up.  Grandpa Bradshaw is soo good at getting her to laugh.  So sweet.

Chloe loves to suck on her fingers and tries constantly to fit her entire fist into her mouth.  It's pretty funny to watch her concentrate so hard on her fingers.  She also loves to suck on her bottom lip.  I don't know why but she is always sucking on it =) She continues to jabber and make new noises everyday!

She does NOT like to:

Be patient for her bottle
Have her face touched
Sit in a wet diaper
Be in her Baby Bjorn
Get the hiccups

She DOES like to:

Listen to music
Play with her fingers
Smile
Take warm baths
Sit in her car seat
Sleep
Get LOTS of attention
Kick all day

Chloe has Blue eyes
Wears 0-3 & 3-6 month clothes
Wears size 1 diapers
Has strawberry blonde hair
Doesn't fit standard size headbands (Thank you aunt Mel and Grandma Crisp for the headbands!)

We went to the doctor yesterday for her 4 month check up and shots.
Weight: 10.9 lbs 2%
Height: 25 in 60%
Head Circumference: 17 in 75%

She is finally over 10 pounds! The doctor was so excited to see her gain a pound in a little over 16 days which was our last appt.  We had gone in to see about her dry skin and had found out that she was having an allergic reaction to the formula she was on.  So we switched her to yet another formula called Elecare.  Since we switched her to that formula her skin has cleared up tremendously and she has gained weight so quickly! Hopefully this will be the last formula change for her.  She still has a bit of eczema on her arms, legs, and forehead but it has gotten a lot better! Cross your fingers.  Another happy thing is she is finally on the chart for her weight! The doctor is so happy and optimistic about her growth which makes me so happy.  I love this pediatrician so much.
